We are Save-n'08!, a youth-based fund-raising group from Nanyang Girls' High School, under the Youth For Causes 2008 initiative (Under 16) Category. THe team comprises of Wong Laiweng, Elise Tan, Phang Chewfei and Ester Cheang from Secondary Four.

Youth For Causes 2008 is officially supported and funded by the Citibank-YMCA organization since its pioneering year in 2002. Last year, we participated in Youth For Causes 2007 as Save-n'07! and had obtained the Best Team (Under 16 Category) award, the highest honor given to outstanding teams for this initiative.

This year, our group will be raising funds for Child at Street 11, a multi-racial, secular, independent and non-profit organization dedicated to help low income and dysfunctional families through providing quality early year education for their children. It helps children and families to overcome problems of illiteracy, violence and unemployment, and also resolves to break the poverty chain in just one generation. Child At Street 11 requires at least $350,000 per year to keep the centre running. Funds are solely done through contributions from individuals, companies and foundations. We hope to raise a total of $50,000 for Child at Street 11.

The project will consist of two main aspects: 1) Organized street sales and; 2) A series of bonanzas. Street sales will be held over a period of two months. The actual dates of the street sales sessions are the Saturdays and Sundays of June and July. There will be 2 sessions on each day, lasting 4 hours. Timings are 9am – 1pm, 2pm- 6pm. In total, there will be 32 sessions of street sales.

Once again we sincerely appeal for your kind help in this event. Even a single little deed as such can change the lives of the children at child at street 11. We would genuinely appreciate your reply to this email.
